November 2000

Brethren:
It’s true that we don’t talk politics here but we certainly do talk about civic duty and responsibility. Our duty to our society and to our fellow man requires that we participate as part of the electorate. Brethren, I strongly encourage your presence at the polls on Election Day.
Note that a number of your lodge officers will be attending Grand Lodge November 12-15. We will return at noon on the 15th. This has required us to move this months stated communication to the last Tuesday (November 28). Since I will not see many of you prior to Thanksgiving, I’ll take this opportunity to wish all an enjoyable Holiday. It is the one particular day in which we focus on the many blessings that the Grand Architect has made available to us during the past year.
Henry Lodge will again be participating in the Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program. I hope you will bring an unwrapped toy to lodge and place it in the box designated for that purpose. A collection box is at the lodge and also at the Fairfax Total Crafts store. We had a goodly number of toys last season thanks to your generosity. Let’s make the collection even larger this year. This is one way that we let the community know that Masons care. Let’s do our part to see to it that every child has a Christmas toy.
Fraternally,
Paul Kulp, W.M.
