Brethren:

Some lodges, I’m told, go dark during the summer.  But not Henry 57.  We kick it up a notch.  Note that we will raise two Brethren to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason during the month of July.  If your cable tow permits, that is, if you’re not off to some beach somewhere, please honor these two newly raised Brethren by your presence.  Also note the inspiring program which will be presented by the Sojourners at the Stated Communication.

Many thanks to all who helped cook  the steaks for the Star dinner on July 11.  It was a notable event.  It was also a hot day and it wasn’t any cooler standing over a hot barbecue fire.  Everyone had fun in spite of the weather.  Your Wardens were a part of that crew.  They were also at duty at 5:00 am on the 16^th helping to prepare the pig for the Grand Master’s official visit to District 4.  These dedicated Brethren deserve our plaudits.

Brethren, if you have not given blood lately, please consider doing so.  The need is there.  When you contribute, please advise our Blood Chairman, Bart Enright.  Bart keeps the records that keep Henry Lodge on track for the Levy award.

A Brother from Haymarket Lodge has offered to re-key the Lodge at no expense to us.  After discussing the matter  with several Brethren (with particular input from the Wardens), I have decided to proceed with the proposal.  This change will take place in about a month.  Every effort will be made to assure that everyone that needs a key  has one.  I will include the subject on the July Stated agenda to provide more detailed information.  I am sure we can get a management handle on the proliferation of keys out there with a minimum amount of inconvenience.
