Henry Lodge #57 A.F. & A.M.

eTrestleboard and Calendar

January, 2003

Brethren,

Freemasonry is capable of bestowing many laurels upon its members, but there is none so great as that of Master of the Lodge. Thank you for the honor of becoming Master of this great Lodge --- I am truly humbled.

I pledge my best to live up to the outstanding record of those who have preceded me in this office and I look forward to working with our outstanding line of officers as we work to maintain the proud traditions of Henry Lodge No 57.

A special thanks to all who helped make our installation of officers a success — especially the Worthy Matron and Sisters of Hope Chapter No. 73, O.E.S.  And to our immediate Past Master, Ralph Smith (who by the way inspired me to ask how to become a Mason) I can only say, “An exceptional year — well done my Brother!”

There is much to be accomplished in the year ahead — but we need one key ingredient for success — you! I look forward to your active participation in the life of our Lodge in some way — big or small.

My heartfelt thanks to all my Brothers who have helped bring me to this point in my Masonic journey --- I am eternally grateful. Finally, I ask for your prayers and support during the year ahead. See you in Lodge!

Harry

Worshipful Master

Henry Lodge to Honor Immediate Past Master Smith:

A special dinner will be held at Henry Lodge on Friday, January 31st at 6:30p to honor our immediate Past Master, Wor. Ralph W. Smith, Jr. and his Lady Dottie. Mark your calendar now and join us for an evening of food and fellowship.

Bro. Bill Hendricks --- New Kena Potentate:

Bro. Bill Hendricks, now serving as the Chief Rabban of the Kena Shrine, will be installed as the 2003 Kena Shrine Potentate in an open ceremony scheduled for 2pm on Sunday, January 19th. Let’s all show our support for Bro. Bill with a great turnout from Henry Lodge. Note that Bro. Bill will make an official visit to Henry Lodge as the Kena Potentate during our March Stated “Appendant Body Night” program.

The New Look Trestleboard --- A Note from the Editor:

My apologies for the delay in publishing this inaugural 2003 issue. Look for future issues to arrive around the 25th of subsequent months. Note that the publication cutoff date for future issues is the second Wednesday of each month.

In Memoriam:

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Wor. Robert Parker last month in Florida. Wor. Parker served as Master of Henry Lodge in 1983.

Official Reception of DDGM at Henry Lodge — Rt. Worshipful Wayne W. Grindle, Sr.

At our January Stated we will receive our very own District Deputy Grand Master, RW Wayne Willard Grindle, Sr. on the occasion of his official visit to Henry Lodge. Also, Worshipful Harry will present to the lodge an overview of his program for 2003.

Installation of 2003 Officers - Your 2003 officers were installed in ceremonies conducted at Henry Lodge on Saturday, December 14th. The ceremony was officiated by Rt. Worshipful William Edward Ray, Sr., PDDGM. Pictures courtesy of Wor. Thomas Richard Wickman.

2003 Henry Lodge No. 57 Lapel Pin - The Worshipful Master would be honored to present every active member of Henry Lodge with the 2003 lapel pin show at the left. What is an active member? --- find out during the January Stated or look for more information in the February Trestelboard.

Henry Lodge Coffee Mug - Depicted to the left is the Henry Lodge Coffee Mug. The Worshipful Master has selected five Stated Meetings at which he will present all members present with his compliments a Henry Lodge Coffee Mug. But, only the Master knows the five meetings --- bottom line, if you want a mug come to lodge --- often! Could the January Stated be one of the five?
