December, 2003

Brethren,

November began with 11 HL57 Brethren traveling to Fredericksburg No. 4 for the GMs final official visit. Then on to Grand Lodge (see pg. 2) for an historic meeting where we watched our very own RW Ed Cohen installed as Grand Junior Deacon! At our stated, all Brothers who served in the Armed Forces were recognized with a special pin. Finally, at a special dinner, all who had provided leadership to our lodge over the past year (see pgs. 4 & 6) were recognized. Another year has come and gone --- once again it is time to elect new officers and pass the gavel. Please accept my heartfelt thanks for allowing me to wear the Master’s hat, hold the gavel and sit in the East of your lodge in its 134th year! I have been deeply honored by your trust and confidence. In some small way, I hope I have brought honor to our lodge, upheld its great traditions and have been effective in passing our Freemasonry on! A special word of thanks to my wonderful wife, Lyn, whose love and understanding were a constant source of strength; to our GM, MW Fred Martin, for a stellar year; to our DDGM, RW Wayne Grindle, and DIW, RW Ed Ray, for their exemplary leadership within our district; to my officers whose outstanding service made it easy; to the Past Masters whose support and words of wisdom kept me on course; to those who cheerfully served at my beck and call and lightened the load; to my mentors (especially RW Bill Sheads) whose inspiration and counsel guided me every step of the way; to those who preceded me to the East and set such a great example; to the Brethren of Henry Lodge for your warm fellowship and Brotherly love; and to all who contributed to the success of our lodge over the past year (to include the ladies of Hope Chapter who provided our stated dinners). I offer my service and support to our 2004 officers and wish them every success in the year ahead! And now I look forward to returning to the sidelines of our great lodge. Please continue to hold Bro. Larry Ward and his family in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!

See you in lodge!

Harry

Worshipful Master
